This is a facilitated play and learning co-op, structured as a flexible homeschool club. Our organization will seek the simplest reasonable route to provide a safe and loving space where our very small group of children can socialize, play, wonder, envision, learn, and laugh. The goal may be different for each family unit, and JoyKidz will celebrate those differences. JoyKidz intends to encourage the freedom of the individual child by providing the types of tools, environments, and rituals that support the child’s process of worldview formation freely and healthily, with differences and divergence to be expected and encouraged. The goal is joyful children that can go on to be self-loving, generally happy, and contributing-in-their-own-way adults. Education isn’t filling a bucket, it’s lighting a fire. Our mission is for children to blossom their own worldviews, we just provide the healthy soil.

Keri-Anne’s previous experience includes teaching at IfSpace and a directress at a local Montessori school. She holds a degree in Early Education as well as Montessori certifi
A handful of curious children (and their families), 1 loving and respectful play and learning facilitator, Keri-Anne Gaughan, and two advisors, Jay and Jodi Silver. Keri-Anne’s previous experience includes teaching at IfSpace and a directress at a local Montessori school. She holds a degree in Early Education as well as Montessori certifications in Elementary Education and has taught in a variety of public and private sectors. Her love for hands on, holistic education has inspired her to seek out a space to work side by side with children in an open, creative setting.
Jay Silver (Ph.D. MIT, Creative Tools and Environments for Learning in “Lifelong Kindergarten,” Founder JoyLabz) and Jodi Silver (B.S. Lesley University, Early Childhood Education) act as advisors.

The space is located in downtown Cocoa Beach. The space is 700 sq. ft. indoors and an adjacent 3600 sq. ft. outdoor space which Is fenced in. The space is filled with age appropriate tools and materials. The children can have access to JoyLabz tools (such as interactive art, STEM toys, laptops, etc.) and researchers when needed. We renova

We renovated the space in 2018 with an architectural vision centered around "What do I wonder?" There are Alice in Wonderland doors, Dr. Seuss trim, underwater skylights, and serious wood floors.
